a few weeks ago, a best friend of mine, asking me about "what is the difference between the new covenant and the old covenant" and i was sort of confuse on how to answer this question. i can still freshly remember that i heard this from pastor Prince before (Pastor Prince is a Senior Pastor of New Creation Church- Singapore). However, i didn't know how to pull it all off to explain it to her.
Finally today, i asked one of my spiritual mentor- Maqdalene Kawotjo- and that was a confirmation about the revelation God has put in my mind.
well, God gave me an understanding that the law under the new covenant is all about LOVE.
The only thing that is so different between the new testament and old testament is LOVE.
The Love of God was truly shown and fulfilled when Jesus - His One and Only son, came to the world.
Jesus whole ministries is all about Love and in fact, he ask us to love God with all of your heart and Love thy neighborhood as thy selves.
When Jesus came, He made all things new, allow us to reconcile with God Almighty. We are so unholy that we can't be united in Father. However, Jesus took that unholiness away and change it with His Holiness. The only reason because Jesus is full of Love. He is in fact the Love Himself.
But it is important to underlined that God's Law is still a Law. The bible as you all know is the ultimate truth so there's no way in the bible that irrelevant from each others. Jesus came to teach that Law with an "adding" that is Love.
So whatever you have in your mind about the old covenant, remember it has been paid fully by Jesus on the cross.
